Hey, when did you make this one? I was just asking my teen about Stations the other day. She used to go with my mother-in-law when she was little. I really love your blog!

This printable Stations of the Cross booklet according to the method of St. Alphonsus Liguori is so handy. Use St. With children I like to go over the pronunciation of the prayers and the hymns before we go to Stations on Fridays in Lent. It is nice to explain Our Lady's Sorrow at the Way of the Cross, too, so that the song reminds them of her. I also like to explain ahead of time the standing and kneeling that we will be doing, because it can seem like a lot to little ones who are making the Stations the first time.

Our congregation fills our chapel on Friday nights, so the children cannot always see what Father and the altar boys are doing, so we like to put them on the aisle for a better view. Save money! I like to read it with the little ones at home before we go to church or pray it, so they learn the story of Good Friday and they can ask questions without interrupting the service. It's also nice to teach your children the Stations privately at church when there is no congregation and before they first go to the actual Stations service on Fridays in Lent. This way the children can get a good look at the pictures of Jesus, move around the church like Father would, and quietly ask questions.

You will love making the Stations with your own little ones. Try it on a Saturday morning holy hour. Children really do sympathize with Jesus when you point out His sufferings at the different Stations.

Parents and catechists both treasure this trip. Read or tell the stories that go with the individual stations. Teach them to "compassionate" their Savior. This word is so powerful. It's a verb so it is pronounced with the long A sound the adjective uses the the short vowel sound. One who is compassionate, shares the sorrows - com means with and passion means strong feeling.

This Stations booklet has the exact same prayers that adults use so it can also be printed for adults. Keep it handy in purse or car. It is a beautiful recording! Alphonsus Liguori. You can also listen to it for free on their site or make a donation on the order page. It's nice to read along with a priest reading the Stations. If you click on the lyrics link you can see the words to the Stations prayers as Father reads them or you can use our printable Stations of the Cross booklet.

Where is the lyrics link? You have to hover over each station's yellow title then the option to click to see the lyrics appears. If you click through the buy button on the school website you can listen to the whole recording on the landing page, so you you can see and hear what you will receive.

Listening to this recording is super good if you cannot make it to Stations at church. Have little children? Little ones love to snuggle on the couch with you to listen to Father lead the prayers. If they're older, they love to "make the Stations" around the Church or your livingroom as they listen.

Buy Coloring and Children of the Kingdom in one Bundle. Bonus: Christmas, Easter, animals, patriotic and more! Catholic Coloring Book Download. Ad-free PDF. For the other Lent coloring pages on this page, it is nice to have all the coloring pages in one file to make it easier to print them in booklet form.

It's not a complete Way of the Cross, but has devotional images and is a handier format for printing as a booklet than individual pages. We've put the coloring pages together in one download so that you can use the booklet setting on you printer. Simply print double sided and staple in a half booklet. Some have truly beautiful art. Many of these are tracings from a s and s catechism series or old church stained glass windows.

They tell the story of Holy Week in a beautiful way. There's nothing like knowing the depths of Jesus' suffering in His Passion and Death while making a good Lent to make Easter a much brighter and happier day! The Stations of the Cross pictures print at Monarch size, or half size, and the extra pictures print at 8.

The better one's Lent, the better one's Easter joy! Holy Thursday is during Holy Week, and as important as it is, it wasn't part of the Stations. I include it here as it is such an important day in the Holy Week story. When we think of the Stations of the Cross , we often think they cover all of Jesus' sufferings.

There's more. After the Last Supper, Jesus started His night of praying and suffering. The next three coloring pages are of Jesus in the Garden of Olives.

Do you miss the days when Father used to lead the Stations at Church? Enjoy listening to Fr. Young pray while you read the prayers below by clicking on the audio CD image above. Pardon me, my God, and permit me to accompany Thee on this journey. Thou goest to die for love of me; I wish also, my beloved Redeemer, to die for love of Thee.

My Jesus, I will live and die always united to Thee. Consider how Jesus, after having been scourged and crowned with thorns, was unjustly condemned by Pilate to die on the Cross. My adorable Jesus, it was not Pilate, no, it was my sins that condemned Thee to die. I beseech Thee, by the merits of this sorrowful journey, to assist my soul in its journey towards eternity. I love Thee, my beloved Jesus; I repent with my whole heart for having offended Thee. Never permit me to separate myself from Thee again.

Grant that I may love Thee always; and then do with me what Thou wilt. Consider how Jesus, in making this journey with the Cross on His shoulders thought of us, and for us offered to His Father the death He was about to undergo. My most beloved Jesus, I embrace all the tribulations Thou hast destined for me until death. I beseech Thee, by the merits of the pain Thou didst suffer in carrying Thy Cross, to give me the necessary help to carry mine with perfect patience and resignation.

I love Thee, Jesus my love; I repent of having offended Thee. Consider this first fall of Jesus under His Cross. His flesh was torn by the scourges, His head crowned with thorns, and He had lost a great quantity of blood.

He was so weakened that he could scarcely walk, and yet he had to carry this great load upon His shoulders. The soldiers struck Him rudely, and thus He fell several times in His journey. My beloved Jesus, it is not the weight of the Cross, but my sins, which have made Thee suffer so much pain.

Ah, by the merits of this first fall, deliver me from the misfortune of falling into mortal sin. Consider the meeting of the Son and the Mother, which took place on this journey. Jesus and Mary looked at each other, and their looks became as so many arrows to wound those hearts which loved each other so tenderly. My most loving Jesus, by the sorrow Thou didst experience in this meeting, grant me the grace of a truly devoted love for Thy most holy Mother.

And thou, my Queen, who wast overwhelmed with sorrow, obtain for me by thy intercession a continual and tender remembrance of the Passion of thy Son. I love Thee, Jesus my love; I repent of ever having offended Thee. Never permit me to offend Thee again. Consider how the Jews, seeing that at each step Jesus from weakness was on the point of expiring, and fearing that He would die on the way, when they wished Him to die the ignominious death of the Cross, constrained Simon the Cyrenian to carry the Cross behind our Lord.

I accept in particular the death Thou hast destined for me; with all the pains that may accompany it; I unite it to Thy death, I offer it to Thee. Thou hast died for love of me; I will die for love of Thee, and to please Thee. Help me by Thy grace.

Consider how the holy woman named Veronica, seeing Jesus so afflicted, and His face bathed in sweat and blood, presented Him with a towel, with which He wiped His adorable face, leaving on it the impression of His holy countenance. My most beloved Jesus, Thy face was beautiful before, but in this journey it has lost all its beauty, and wounds and blood have disfigured it.

Alas, my soul also was once beautiful, when it received Thy grace in Baptism; but I have disfigured it since by my sins; Thou alone, my Redeemer, canst restore it to its former beauty. Do this by Thy Passion, O Jesus. I repent of having offended Thee. Consider the second fall of Jesus under the Cross -- a fall which renews the pain of all the wounds of the head and members of our afflicted Lord.

My most gentle Jesus, how many times Thou hast pardoned me, and how many times have I fallen again, and begun again to offend Thee! Oh, by the merits of this new fall, give me the necessary help to persevere in Thy grace until death.

I love these Stations of the Cross coloring pages as an activity for kids and adults during Lent, and especially on Good Friday, during that period of pm when Jesus hung on the cross. During those hours, I make a real effort to keep our home quiet and focused. This is quite a challenge in a house full of children! But I try. I created these coloring pages using beautiful illustrations from a vintage Roman Missal, and they are my favorite quiet, prayerful, meditative activity for all ages. The detail makes them great for older kids and adults.
